Uniform Labeling Codes For Air Brake Valves
The codes consist of five characters. The first two characters indicate the valve type as shown (below). The last three digitis indicate the nominal crack pressure or force. For example 'RV040' would indicate a Relay Valve with a 4 pound crack pressure.

Valve Type Codes
RE = Relay EmergencyValve

RR = Ratio Relay Valve
RD = Decaying Ratio Relay Valve
RB = Booster Relay Valve
QR = Quick Release Valve
BV = Brake Foot Valve
TP = Tractor Protection Valve
